Window and door installation planning
Start with the project address, required positive and negative design pressures, opening dimensions and substrate. The approval number and approved installation detail must match the exact system being quoted.
Coordinate the frame with the building
Review the sill, head and jamb as one assembly. The sill must suit the finished-floor elevations and drainage plan; the head and jambs must suit the opening support and wall construction. Confirm the chosen threshold, handing and panel layout before work begins.
Prepare for delivery and handling
Inspect packaging and products on receipt. Plan access, unloading equipment and enough trained personnel for large panels. Protect glass and finishes from construction debris, tools and contact with other stored materials.
Use the exact installation detail
System sections explain geometry, but do not establish a universal fastener schedule. The approved assembly, substrate and required performance control anchoring, flashing and sealant details. Have the installer review those details before setting the frame.
Check movement and drainage at handover
Review operation, locking, seals and drainage openings after installation. Resolve binding or misalignment before regular use. Keep the approved drawings, delivery record and service instructions with the opening schedule.
